Taylor Broussard | S.T.E.A.M.

Education & Experience:

Taylor received a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of North Florida. Throughout college, she sat as president of the Society of Women Engineers where she held outreach events like 'Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day' and helped tutor homeless youth in Jacksonville, FL. She spent her early career working on international drinking water projects in places like Honduras, Guatemala, and Fiji. During her travels, she spent one year homeschooling two sisters (5th and 7th grade) aboard a traditional wooden tall ship in the Aeolian Islands. This experience ignited Taylor's love for being a steward of learning.

She now runs a small business as a doula, matricentric photographer, and herbalist.

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe each of us carry important medicine for the times. It is one of my greatest joys to help connect children to the unique gifts that they carry and encourage them to play an active role in solving the problems they may encounter in the world.

Favorite thing about kids:

the way they see the world - with wide open eyes and fresh perspectives

Favorite thing about WBNS:

being part of a community that deeply respects and cares for the wellbeing of children

Quote to share

Everyday I see or hear something that more or less

kills me with delight, that leaves me like a needle

in the haystack of light. It was what I was born for —to look, to listen,

to lose myself inside this soft world —to instruct myself over and over

in joy, and acclamation.
